I got this from Sarah:
Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know your friends. Okay, here’s what you’re supposed to do, and try not to be a SCROOGE!!!
Copy and paste this in your post. Change all the answers so that they apply to you.
Then share this with a whole bunch of people you know, INCLUDING the person that shared it to you… ’tis the Season to be NICE!
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper! I love wrapping paper. I love being able to coordinate the wrapping paper with our Christmas tree. It just looks gorgeous.
2. Real tree or artificial? I love the smell of a real tree, and the fullness of it. However, my family bought a fake tree a decade ago for its practicality. When I have home of my own, I’d love to get a real tree. Since John and I won’t be in Madison for the holidays, we didn’t get a tree. It’d be a shame to throw away a real tree the week before Christmas.
3. When do you put up the tree? We usually put up the tree after Thanksgiving, or whenever everyone is at home, so that us kids can put it together. My parents still haven’t put up their tree because they’re waiting for us to come back. I told them to go ahead, so we’ll see if it’ll be up by the time we get back to CA.
4. When do you take the tree down? We take the tree down the first week of January after “the three kings” visit.
5. Do you like eggnog? Depending on how it is made. If it made sweet then yes.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? Hmmm…that’s hard. I was the only grandchild and child for a while so I got spoiled a lot when I was younger. I can’t really pinpoint THE favorite, but A favorite was this McDonalds store. It came with two corners of the store. It had a cash register, food, apron, visor with walkie talkie. It even had a drive thru window.
7. Hardest person to buy for? Hmmm…I think my best friend is the hardest to buy for. She buys everything she actually wants for herself, and she’s very picky.
8. Easiest person to buy for? My siblings. I know them really well, and can find a million things I would want to buy for them.
9. Do you have a nativity scene? Nope. I don’t know why. My family is pretty religious, but we just never wanted to spend money for it.
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail. I never thought of e-mailing cards. How can you decorate the house with e-mailed Christmas cards?!?
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Oh man, everything I got from a certain aunt and uncle. They’d give EVERYONE really crappy gifts, but no one would ever say anything to them. I hated it. One time they gave me a mug that my little cousins made that was deformed, and leaks.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? I love watching all those Original Television Christmas Classics. I especially like The Year Without a Santa Claus, with the Heat Miser and Snow Miser. Then there’s Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town, Frosty the Snowman, and Frosty Returns.
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? As soon as school is done with. This year, Dec. 19.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? I don’t know. Doubt it.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Mmmm…desserts. Anything sweet.
16. Lights on the tree? Of course!
17. Favorite Christmas song? Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas is You”
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? We travel just to relatives homes around the bay area, but not internationally or anywhere not involving relatives.
19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer? You know Dasher, and Dancer, and Prancer, and Vixen, Comet, and Cupid and Donner and Blixen. But do you recall the most famous Reindeer of all. Dah-dum-dum-dum. Am I right?
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Hmm…I forget what we usually have. I think we have a star that’s too heavy to usually be on top.
21. Open presents on Christmas Eve or morning? We open Christmas presents from everyone except our immediate family on Christmas Eve, then we open presents from our immediate family at home on Christmas morning.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Trying to find a parking space while shopping! And it’s also a little annoying when I spend all my time trying to find the perfect presents for each person, and then I receive gifts that weren’t as thought out. I guess it’s not annoying, just disappointing.
23. Favorite ornament theme or color? I love metallics during Christmas. We have alternating theme colors for the holidays. Last year was silver and metallic blue. Then there’s metallic red and gold. And sometimes we do red and silver, or silver and gold.
24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? I love Christmas dinners where all of my family are there, and no one is missing.
25. What do you want for Christmas this year? I don’t know…maybe a job!! Hahaha…or a dining table set. For myself, there’s not much that I want. Oooh, maybe cookbooks.
Well, that’s all for this survey. And since I hate to have a post without a picture, here’s us in 2007:
