My paper list

With three months to go, my current list of things to do involves mainly stationery products. That means, first and foremost, INVITATIONS, programs, escort envelopes, menu placecards, table numbers, and reception programs. Since our stationer person is taking care of the paper for our invites, that means I’m in charge of getting a whole lot of paper. We’re looking at about 370 guests, so it’s been interesting trying to figure out how many items I’ll be making. Right now, it looks like these are my numbers:

230 invitations
150 programs
370 escort envelopes
370 menu placecards
35 table numbers

So a couple of entries ago I showed off my invitation inspirations, now will be the inspiration for my programs:

I first wanted to do the fan programs. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, they look like this:

I thought that it was really unique and fun. I really REALLY wanted to the program fan in my early stages of planning, but eventually I realized that I’m going to have A LOT of pages to my program. I flip flopped on a bunch of other types of programs, but I think I’ve decided on going with the traditional booklet program. The inspiration for my program is the weddingbee’s Mrs. Emerald:

Mrs. Emerald embossed her program covers with her monogram, which I think is fabulous. I’m also planning on getting a custom stamp with our monogram…as soon as I figure out what font I want out names to be in. Initially I thought about having our names in Copperplate Gothic Light or Trajan Pro, but now I’m thinking that it’d be good to tie in the font of our invitations with our monogram. Unfortunately, the font for invitations is not a stock one. It’s called Lily Wang, and it costs like $18…not TOO bad, so I may end up buying it, though John thinks I should just ask Susanne for the font and artwork. So this is how our monogram looks like right now:

So basically, our names may change but everything should remain the same.

Anyway, back to our programs. So the cover will be embossed with this monogram. Like Mrs. Emerald, I shall use vellum to add our artwork (found on istockphoto), and have an engagement picture immediately behind it. The inside pages shall be taken from Mrs. Plumeria and Mrs. Egglant:

The pages inside our program will use our artwork on the margins and all the wording on the inside. Seems simple enough. Oh yes, then there’s the idea of assembling the pages together. I wasn’t fond of staples or ribbons, so I started thinking of different ways I could put them together. Thenn I found the perfect way to put everything together, WITH THREAD! Yup, I know nothing about sewing, but for my wedding I am preparing to sew 150 programs. WIsh me luck. I thought about a simple stitch, but I saw a zig zag stitch on knottie sakegirls bio, and I thought it looked cute.

So those are the inspirations for my programs. It took a lot longer to explain than I thought it would. I just hope I’ll be able to pull it off. But I do have 3 months to complete them. I think my programs may be an ongoing project since nothing in my ceremony is quite finalized.
