Thanksgiving 2008: Friends

I always start a set of entries, and then the A.D.H.D. in me wains at the end, and I end up leaving something out. And now here’s the overdue last Thanksgiving entry.

The day after my birthday I headed to a Thanksgiving lunch with some friends in SSF. It was my first ever attempt to make a vegetarian lasagna. To my surprise, it cost way more than I thought it would, and it took way longer to make than I thought it would. So of course, I was late. Anyway, all the food was delicious! And the company was even better.

The ladies (and little E in the Moby)

The crazy gents

After stuffing our faces with the great food, we decided to play board games. All the girls (and John) played Loaded Questions. I found it funny that a bunch of us owned the game, but had never played it. The other guys were playing Halo, I think. It was so great. I seriously think that everyone should own this game. It’s so fun.

After the guys were done playing Halo, we all decided to play Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture Edition, which John and I discovered we suck at! We knew like two answers, and that was it! Bad game for the Truongs.

After spending a lot longer than we had anticipated, we sped back to San Jo to our Annual JLC Thanksgiving. We ended up getting there at 10pm, when it started at 6pm. Whoops! We were so stuffed from the earlier lunch that we hardly ate. However, I was assigned a cup:

Do you see it? It says “Mrs. Truong.” Awww, it WAS my first Thanksgiving as a married woman.

Since everyone was done eating dinner, we ended up playing, what else, Loaded Questions! It was so funny! It’s amazing how the same game has so many different outcomes. Since most of JLC have been friends for over a decade, a lot of the answers were more personal, and some were a lot easier to make fun of.

Since we arrived so late, we missed a lot of folks who had to leave the dinner early, which was sad, but we still managed to snag a picture.

And of course John and I had to snag pictures with our friend (and my BM Diep)

You can see how much food we had left over. Everyone took at least one to-go plate.

It was a very busy Thanksgiving weekend, but it was so worth it, and so awesome to see all our friends.
